Description
The purple coneflower or echinacea is a well-known autumn flower. With flowers up to eight centimetres wide in good conditions, it blooms from July until the autumn frosts and is therefore a very common perennial that adds colour to flower beds in the autumn.
It is a perennial with abundant growth. The flower stems are strong and upright, reaching up to one and a half metres. The dark green leaves have a rough surface. The coneflower is completely frost-proof. Coneflowers like a sunny location and fertile soil, but can also tolerate some shade. The soil should be slightly moist rather than excessively dry. They also tolerate clay soil well. Every four to six years, the plant could be divided and replanted.
