Care Instructions:
Plant the bulbs of the horse star in the fall 🍂, preferably in rich, well-drained soil 🪴. Plant the bulb so that about one-third is above the soil surface—this helps prevent excess moisture and bulb rot 🚫💧.
The plant loves light! 🌞 Place it in a sunny windowsill or in a spot with plenty of filtered light. It prefers room temperatures between 18–24 °C 🌡️. Keep the soil moist but do not overwater. Ensure that the soil dries out completely between watering sessions, as overly wet soil can cause bulb rot. Once the shoots start to emerge, gradually increase the watering.
During the growing season, you can fertilize ‘Lady Jane’ once a month 🧪 with a flower fertilizer—this will encourage blooming and make the colors more vibrant. You can stop fertilizing once the blooming ends. If everything is done correctly, ‘Lady Jane’ will delight you with its magnificent flowers 🌼 about 6-8 weeks after planting!
During the blooming period, keep the plant in a cooler room (15–18 °C) ❄️ to help the flowers last longer. After blooming, cut the flower stems back ✂️ and minimize watering. In the summer, you can move the plant outside 🌳, but it should be brought back indoors in the fall to prepare for new blooming.
The horse star ‘Lady Jane’ adds true romance and festivity to your home and garden! ✨🌷
